What are you thankful for this week? - 8/31/2020

Recommended Posts

So what is everyone thankful for this week?

I am thankful that the summer heat is starting to subside here and I've been able to get outside for my walking again.

I'm also thankful that I haven't had any tolerance issues with any of the foods I've tried so far, though admittedly I have been playing it safe and not branching out too much yet.

I'm also thankful that my bosses informed me of my raise for this year and it is beyond generous.

  • I am also super grateful for summer's end being in sight and for the rain we got recently!
  • This may be controversial, but I am grateful for movie theaters re-opening.
  • I am grateful for being prescribed an anti-depressant that seems to be helping lift the veil a bit.

Great post idea!

I love this!

I'm grateful for the fact that I get to spend so much time with my kids this year.(even though the reason why sucks)

I'm grateful I finally got to have my sleeve surgery and that I have so many supporting family and friends.

And I'm so so thankful for my husband, who's done everything imaginable to make sure we could afford the surgery and that my recovery was comfortable. He's a good guy.

I am grateful to have made it to see my 40th birthday today. My baby boy only made it to see his 10th.

I will turn 40 again next year and Celebrate on someone's island! 🤭😉

I am grateful that I lost my grief weight of 40lbs, plus an additional 10, totaling 50lbs down by my 40th birthday.

I am grateful for my family and friends, who love and support me.

I'm grateful for the extra time I've been able to spend with my children.

I'm grateful for my health, and for my new body that's able to keep up with the active person that has always been inside me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
