Shellys_Sleeved_Belly 6 Posted August 22, 2020 I'm currently in the puree stage and about 2.5 weeks post op. Can I ask how often you guys at the same stage are eating? When I eat, I feel full after about 1oz and assume that's my body's way of telling me to stop. I feel like I'm waaaay undereating though. Hop_Scotch 1,632 Posted August 22, 2020 How many meals a day are you eating? I was meant to eat a max 1/2 cup six times a day, initally depending on what I was eating I couldn't eat half a cup and certainly couldn't do six times a day along with trying to get Water in 1 Shellys_Sleeved_Belly reacted to this

I'm trying for at least 3 times a day + a Protein Drink but even with that, I'm so scared I'm going to overdo it. I've experienced something similar to dumping syndrome twice now (I believe from drinking too much Water too quickly), so I think I'm being overly cautious. Plus, I still can't get over the fact that I'm never hungry, it blows my mind! I really appreciate your comment, makes me feel a whole lot better! BigSue 1,392 Posted August 22, 2020 What kinds of things are you eating? When I started the pureed food stage, I was eating 2 ounces at a time, consisting of triple zero yogurt + Protein Powder, sugar-free pudding + Protein powder, pureed refried Beans + protein powder, unsweetened applesauce + protein powder, or cottage cheese. I have been eating three "meals" per day plus liquids (protein drinks, sugar-free popsicles, sugar-free Jello, protein Soups, etc.) in between. Are you tracking what you eat? I track everything in MyFitnessPal and I average around 400 calories per day. I don't really feel full when I eat, but I don't feel hungry, either (haven't felt hungry since the surgery). I just measure out 2 ounces and eat it, and don't feel much different before and after the meal. I'm 5 weeks out and on the "soft food" stage, but I'm still mostly eating pureed foods and ricotta bake (definitely the best thing I've eaten since surgery and now my go-to dinner; I split the recipe into 8 portions and that's dinner for over a week). I just recently started adding half an ounce of canned chicken to my refried beans and ricotta bake meals. 2 Rara and Shellys_Sleeved_Belly reacted to this
Arabesque 7,432 Posted August 22, 2020 I was only eating three times a day & probably only barely 1/3 cup. Don’t force yourself to eat if you’re not hungry or to get in a specific volume of food. Listen to your body. It will tell you how much you can eat & how frequently. be patient you don’t want to make yourself unwell or suffer more dumping attacks. If you are really concerned about your calorie intake at this stage, sip some Soup, broth or a Protein Shake over a couple of hours. During my liquid stage, I ate two ‘meals’ a day & take hours to drink my Protein shake or soup. (I kept the soup in a thermos to keep it hot.) Plus they add to your Fluid intake for the day. 2 Rara and Shellys_Sleeved_Belly reacted to this
