I has mine last week on Thursday. I'm surprised at how good I feel! I was nervous about getting enough Water but it hasn't been an issue. Pain is manageable.

The only thing I have trouble with sometimes is finding a comfortable position to sleep. Sometimes it's not an issue and other times -- like tonight -- I'm stuck awake because no matter which way I lay, it's uncomfortable.

I'm glad to hear all is going well. I had surgery on the 14th and im feeling better but still hurt when I stand or like you try to sleep. sleeping is terrible and is really the only time I wish my surgeon prescribed pain meds. The first two days were constant throbbing but I found walking to help and again wasn't anything I couldn't live through.

I have been able to drink all the fluids and Protein required everyday, so I am happy about that. I've been loving all the bariatricpal Soups, hot chocolate and Cappuccino so I can have the protein and fluids at the same time.

Surgery was this morning (revision from sleeve to bypass for GERD). So far I am doing very well and much better than I did at this point after sleeve. I’m already walking the whole hallway and have passed my sips test, so am drinking Water and watered down apple juice. I am so happy I went through with this!

Just had mine done on the 14th. 54 year old male that has never been in hospital before and I can tell you that I was dreading it. Nervous was an understatement.

5 days on im wondering why I put myself through so much stress and sleepless nights!

I had excruciating pain the 1st day but by the 3rd day I have the odd twinge but nothing that I wasn't prepared for. I'm now pain free at day 5 and have been walking 3 or 4 miles each day.

My future is looking so optimistic now that I truly feel blessed.

I cannot believe the struggle I've had for the last 35 years is finally over.

I'm looking forward to wearing some of my smaller and now retro clothes lol

Stay positive as its all worth it in the end.

For me I was dreading the procedure and the recovery as some of my friends had said they suffered with the after effects of the anesthetic. I have however surprised myself how well I actually feel. You have got this ....thats my mantra.

liquid diet isn't bothering me too much.

When I flew back to my city, I stood looking at the menu boards in burger king and domino's pizza. 5 minutes passed and thought " you are not hungry so move along"

I've only really noticed that when ever I switch the TV on its a food advert so I just reach for a sip of Water. I honestly do not feel hungry.

Last night I opened a tin of Soup. I put 1/4 in a dish and heated it. I actually finished 1/2 of what I made lol. True story.

If i have a cup of tea. The best I can manage is actually 1/2 a cup.

I am sticking to the rules given me that I have to drink a lot of water to keep hydrated. I will stick to the experts advice and follow the program for a change.

Just had mine the 16th! Only day 3 of post op. Everything went well but I am still just trying to navigate this new life. Also I am dealing with pain still, so that’s not fun.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
