Anyone for September 2020?

Recommended Posts

Mine is 9/03. So my Oreos diet is just low carb then two days before liquids only. I’m reading on here people have to do a week to two of straight liquids. I’m a little concerned?

My nutritionist said every doctor us different. She started to tell me one doctor's diet then she said his name and I was like that's not my doctor lol. THEN, she told me my doctor wanted 2 WEEKS of only fluids. I was like sorry I said anything. LOL. Don't worry. Whatever your doctor said. :) Good luck.

5/22/20 preop: 377 lbs.

How come we can’t have caffeine on the liquid diet? I’m 3 days on liquid diet & a horrible headache just started. How long does it usually last? I got really sick in the hot sun securing everything for Hurricane Laura, then anxiety as it became a category 4. Not having coffee is harder for me than all liquid diet (for now). Excited & scared for the 8th! Glad I found y’all to talk about our surgeries. Good luck on yours!

September 10th here! I'm celebrating my (September) birthday this weekend since I'll be a couple of days post-op on my actual birthday.

Good luck everyone!

@MagentaMom great! We’re surgery siblings now! You’re the ONLY person I’ve seen with our date🎉🎉🎉 I thought I’d never get a surgery sis 😂 . I’m going after labor day and my Son’s birthday so that I can enjoy the festivities. Maybe one last ice cream cone😆 I heard it makes you nauseous after vsg and ice cream is my favorite! Im looking forward to healthier favorites after surgery.

where are you having your surgery done?

I knowwww. I am just so head hungry. I have had all my Protein and now I just wish I could go to bed so I’m not around food but...kids. Sigh. I may sneak a lean chicken breast for dinner tomorrow night and some steamed broccoli.

YES. My surgery is on Wednesday and I feel like I am starving and I am so tired! I have lost 15lbs so far. Today I woke up from a dream about a sub sandwich. I am hungry, yet I feel like I can barely choke down these Protein Shakes. I make my own with pea Protein Powder, but now I am so over them.

SO REAL! I have lost 14 pounds on this diet in the last 7 days, I'd be shocked to see any more significant weight loss but who knows...either way, I am constantly hungry..... blarrrrgh.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
