I just found this app and it seems like so much help already! I had my surgery 8/5/2020 so tomorrow marks 1 week post op! Is anyone else having any issues getting all your liquids in for the day? I think that’s what I’m struggling with the most at this point.

Congrats & welcome. Don’t worry about meeting goals to begin. Just slowly increase each day or so. Sip, eat slowly & listen to your body. It will tell you what you can or can’t tolerate as you introduce foods back to your diet.

Good luck.

Welcome and congrats! I struggled for the first 5-6 weeks getting everything in and getting the timing right! Now, 7 months out, I look back at that time and wish I hadn't stressed so much over it! Just do what you can, and your body will eventually adjust and get to where it needs to be. It's in shock - you just had major surgery. It will all fall into place eventually!

it took me a little over a week to finally meet the liquid and Protein goals, and I had to work very hard to get there. it took me about two weeks before I was doing it consistently. but again, with a lot of hard work. I still have a hard time meeting the Water goals everyday if I don't start early enough in the day, but it gets easier as time goes by. protein is much easier now since I am starting to eat meat.

I am almost 3 months out and still struggle to get my liquids in, which is weird because I used to drink Water ALL day long before surgery... but now I am rarely thirsty and rarely have room in my tummy.. Just try to keep sipping through the day. That's what I do.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
