Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

Tmi . Does your private area smell stronger?

Recommended Posts

Your body is in ketosis. That is your body is using your fat stores for energy. The smell is a very common side effect. Bad breath, strong perspiration smells & other unpleasant bodily odours. If you google it you’ll find lots of information & ways to manage the odours but unfortunately no cures.

The smell is not good but you are losing weight - yay!

You're not alone. Keep hydrated best you can and It will go away eventually.

I know weird question, and yes I take a shower everyday, and use wipes after I go number 2 so before surgery I don't remember being this potent down there [emoji23] is that to me expected?

Make sure you stay hydrated. When urine gets concentrated it smells very strongly, even worse if you’re a diabetic. Lingering traces and stress incontinence issues can make it seem even worse. If you can, try wearing pantyliners for a while to see if that helps some.

Along with what others have said, our bodies so weird things when burning fat for fuel.

I was experiencing same😧, found this on Amazon and it is Amazing! I use it at night before bed ONLY when i sense any odor and it really takes care of things for a good few weeks. Read reviews on Amazon...made my life 10,000 times refreshed!!😄

I struggled with mild to moderate odour probs PRE surgery already. Regular washing/drying and changing my underwear 1-3 times a day helped.

The first months or so AFTER surgery it got pretty stinky, lol. Like @Arabesque mentioned above, I figured it was Ketosis.

I don’t remember when it went away (maybe 2-3 months post op?). Since then I’ve been fresh like a daisy.

Give it a few more weeks, and if it really starts to stank, try sitting in a warm bath with 2 cups of apple cider vinegar for like 15-20 mins. I didn’t submerge my whole body though (but you can if u like!), i just filled the tub high enough to reach my va-jay-jay and sat in it.

Good Luck!

Pre surgery. I buy these from Amazon by the bulk. I keep some in my purse at all time. You may have already tried these, but I gave used them for years. I also had to switch to only Antibacterial Dial. I am allergic to others and they don't get the job done. Hope it helps. Also, for some reason I eat seafood (seriously) I get a strong odor.20200815_210746.jpg

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
