Suzycue 4 Posted August 7, 2020 Hey everyone my RNY is on the 19th went to my pre screen appointment today. Started my Optifast 2 days ago. I’m just feeling really sad and down and a bit depressed. Anyone else feel like this before surgery?
tarotcardreader 196 Posted August 7, 2020 Not yet hey i read that the surgery changes the body but not the mind and now that u r om the preop diet without the food as a “fix” you got to self care the mind. Also maybe therapy for some of us
LaLaDee 519 Posted August 8, 2020 My surgery was three years ago, but it was a total roller coaster before and after emotionally. I don't regret it all, but it was really hard psychologically to deal with. It's pretty normal to feel scared/anxious before surgery. Some people seem just excited, but I was freaking out and feeling sad that I was left at the "last resort". The best advice is to be kind to yourself. Distract yourself with whatever will help you, reading, movies, talking to friends, prayer, meditation, sleep, journalling. Whatever works for you. Good luck! 1 jami.1992 reacted to this
Suzycue 4 Posted August 8, 2020 Thank you for the reply I’m keep trying to tell myself I’m going to be saving myself from future hurt by going through it now I mean RNY is better than heart surgery right?
