Another person who should have chosen RNY bypass...

Hey New & Improved...did you realize that it's against forum rules to shame people for their choice of surgery? Now why don't you bugger off with your constant hot takes, lousy opinions, and egotistical attention seeking?

I have a friend that is really into holistic medicine. She says that even if your blood results showed normal on thyroid that it doesn’t necessarily mean it really is. I’m scheduled for surgery on August 13, and she has been wanting me to discuss my blood test results with the holistic woman that knows about this stuff. I’m going through the surgery anyhow so we shall see. Maybe some of the others who are not experiencing weight loss have a Thyroid issue? I’m certainly no expert, just putting out thoughts and possibilities

There are many factors that can contribute to this. Starting weight, height, age, gender just to name a few. I’m in my 30s and I ended up losing 70 pounds my first year. By week 10 I was only 27 pounds down :( I was a slow but steady loser. It really takes time to really see the progress. Just keep following your meal plan, drink your Water, and cardio. The weight will fall off. For me what really helped was intermittent fasting. It’s a life changer. Look it up. It really helped me during my stalls. You will get there!!!!

Not really a helpful comment, is it? One would assume that she and her doctor discussed the surgeries and made the best choice for her situation. Just because she isn’t starving herself, only consuming Protein Drinks, and dropping weight quickly does not mean she has the wrong surgery. Your case isn’t the norm, especially amongst women.

Some thoughts you should either keep in your head or type out if you must and then don’t hit “send”.

My doctor said weight loss would be faster with Roux en Y than VSG. I might have gone with the sleeve because it is supposed to be safer but I am having issues with walking due to my weight. I suggest to the OP to take this time to pamper her skin by using a dry brush, cleaning shower after the and a apply cocoa butter to areas that tend to get loose skin. That's a regimen I used in the past when I lost 75 pounds by diet and exercise. The plastic surgeon I used for breast reduction said it made a big difference in my skin condition.( I will still need removal of outer thigh skin for sure.)You'll get there! Distract yourself in the meantime. Good luck to you!

Pssst...in case you missed it, this thread is in the gastric sleeve forum AND isn’t about you. So why don’t you take your toxic personality, for which there is no surgery to fix, and go find some other thread to poison with your opinions and gross attention seeking.

No, you're not. You are only ever tooting your own horn and providing nothing helpful for people. The OP didn't once ask about alternative surgeries or for anyone here to toot their own horn about their own weight loss, which is all that you have done and is practically the only thing you ever do. You CANNOT speak from experience to people unhappy with the results of their sleeve surgery because you NEVER HAD a sleeve gastrectomy. So again...go find any number of the other forums to harass with your poor excuse for "information" and "experience". Your toxic personality is not needed in this one.

So it's fine for people to b***h and moan about how unhappy and unsuccessful they are?

Yet it's not okay for people to feel good about Celebrate their own achievements?

I'm just over seeing all the negative posts and people continuously slacking or cheating then crying about their lack of weight loss?

You can only blame yourself!

So stop slacking off

Yes, it is fine for people to post about being unhappy or not having the success they had hoped for on here because they are looking for support and guidance from people who have gone through the same thing. Not for some little goblin like you to come along and crap all over them and wave your success in their face to taunt them (WHICH IS WHAT YOU DO). Your disgusting behavior on this site is well documented. The only reason you are here is to make yourself feel better at the expense of others.

Not a single person in this thread posted that they were slacking off or they were cheating, so your little attempt at justifying the vile and rancid crap that you spew is just another load of crap coming from you.

Again, get the hell out of the Gastric Sleeve forum. You are not needed here.

Oh...and I'm gonna bookmark the hell out of your post that I quoted for when the honeymoon ends and you regain weight.

Haha okay enjoy I'm doing amazing thank you.

if you Keep your eye on your weight and your goals there's no reason to regain. Most people regain because they get complacent.

Goodbye

You do realize that the sleeve does this too, right? You tout that bypass is the end all be all...but here I am with my "subpar" surgery, down 105 pounds in 7 months (JUST from surgery, not a lengthy strict pre-op diet like you did, you conveniently leave that part out a lot)

The bypass is different there's alot of research about the bypassing of intestines that resets your set point and the malabsorption and such and yes I did a preop as most people do before surgery; if I include the preop then it took a total of 7 months to lose 157lbs and I've kept that off now over 3 months :)

It is possible but it takes alot of commitment and hard work.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
