Another Aldi find! This is not super healthy and definitely not meant for those who just had surgery, but OMG these chicken cutlets are amazing. Taste just like Chick-fil-A. I just eat a half of one and I'm stuffed, but for the family, they get a whole one on brioche Buns (also from Aldi) with a couple pickles and they gobble it right up!

Oh yes the fabled red bag chicken filets. They are very good.

Not exactly a Grocery food Item, but worth looking into, if you drink carbonated water...(wasn't sure where to post this!!)

Love these! Like cheese doodles. Got from Amazon. It had some negative reviews but positive ones won out!

I tried Shirataki Pasta (found at Walmart) for the first time this week, and I like it! It has a bad smell in the bag, but I prepared it like this and there was no taste or smell:

https://ketodietapp.com/Blog/lchf/how-to-cook-and-like-shirataki-noodles

I ate 1/4 cup of it with some delicious turkey meat sauce (https://www.panningtheglobe.com/quick-turkey-ragu/) and it was a decent imitation of spaghetti. I prefer this to zucchini or butternut squash noodles because I don't like squash.

I'm a big fan of cauliflower rice. It's weird because I hate cauliflower, but I don't mind cauliflower rice. With sauce and mix-ins, I can almost fool myself into thinking I'm eating actual rice. I mostly buy the plain kind, but this fried rice style makes a good lazy 3-ingredient meal: fried cauliflower rice + frozen pulled chicken + Huy Fong chili garlic sauce. The nutrition info is for the entire bag, but I only eat 1/5 of the bag (2 ounces).

This frozen pulled chicken is awesome. It is so convenient to keep in the freezer. I think it's better than the grilled chicken strips. It's great for salads, mixing with cauliflower rice, covering with sugar-free BBQ Sauce, etc. -- basically any time I don't feel like cooking my own chicken.

Probably TMI here, but be careful where and when you eat these (at least at first!) I brought them to work (before WLS) and they made me VERY gassy! Like, I had to go home or embarrass myself gassy! Just be careful...that's all I'm saying!

I would not eat this - I have to be very very careful with artificial sweeteners. It has erythritol and sorbitol both which cause me to have the runs really really really badly. I cannot drink any of the weight loss shakes or meal replacers or these "diet bars" no zero calorie sweetened yogurt, no low cal/low sugar ice creams unless I read the ingerdients really carefully. Anyone with celiac disease of gluten intolerance also should be VERY careful with these.

I guess I'm lucky, I use artificial sweeteners all the time with no issues at all. Didn't realize how lucky I was I guess. :-)

they've never bothered me, either - but evidently they do a lot of people.

Sweeteners and real sugar affect me in the same way...in small amounts ok, but too much at a time or on an empty stomach results in dumping

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
