Does everyone get a boob job after weight loss?

I've literally worn a bra (usually a soft, comfy sports bra) 24-7 unless I'm in the shower since my surgery, and I feel like it has helped quite a bit...I started doing it because one of my incisions after the surgery was right under my right breast and it was uncomfortable but I'm 15 mos out and still only go "all natural" if I'm in the bath or shower. My bra size has gone from a 42DD to a 32D so I havent had a lot of actual loss but they're "deflated" looking. If I suddenly came into a lot of money I might want to get a breast lift but it's low on my list of priorities (now...skin removal and a neck lift...those are a priority).

so i had 3 procedures...breast lift, Tummy Tuck and arm lift.

and i gotta say, of the three, the breast lift was the surprise fave.

while the TT addressed my vanity needs (to rock a bikini at my age, which doesn't happen often anyway), and the arm lift adressed my self-consciousness of my flappy upper arms when wearing sleeveless tops (which i wear ALL. THE. TIME.), the breast lift addressed a quality of life issue i didn't know i had.

i go braless most of the time, and its nice to not have to deal with the post bra-wearing itch or the binding feeling of wearing one. i sleep more comfortably cuz i don't need a bra at night, nor do i have moist "underboobs" anymore. running (or any type of exercise) is much more comfortable cuz i dont have the extra skin or bulk bouncing around when i move vigorously. button front shirts fit nicely over my boobs without the tell-tale gap between buttons, so i no longer keep checking if im busting out or flashing a bit of boob or bra unintentionally.

I'm getting all the things lol My boobs are completely flat and deflated. I'm getting boobs, Tummy Tuck, and skin removal everywhere that needs it (maybe I'll just do a full body lift...not sure yet). I just know that once I hit my goal and maintain it for a bit, I want my body to be BANGIN!!!!! All this work to get healthy and lose weight, and now I'm gonna need to look the part lol

I'm right there with you. One of the things that had me scared was loose skin, but there is a world of things to make you look better out there that I'm not afraid to use.

I’m so glad I came across this thread! I’ve lost 100lbs since my surgery and my breast have lost all shape and volume. I never had really large breasts to begin with but now what I did have is completely gone and ‘deflated.’ Did those of you who had breast lifts see a reconstruction specialist? I feel like those of us who have lost a LOT of weight kinda fit in a category all our own. Also, I’m wondering if I should consider implants as well. Most of my adult life I had a full C cup size and now my breasts are just sad on a cracker.

I don't know where you got that statistic, but assuming I've given birth 2 times, I haven't had my breasts enlarged or reduced.

I agree with you, and in fact, it's a pretty hard surgery with several serious consequences, so it's worth thinking a few times about the need for it. My friend, after this surgery, disappeared from work for several months because of the development of complications. So make use of expert-written resources before you believe a surgeon's reviews on the Internet. Medical interventions are essential and complex and need to be rational. Otherwise, it seems that such manipulations do not make sense.

There is no way Idaho Medicaid would ever pay for this for me, they won’t even pay for a breast reduction. Hell I’m lucky they pay for skin removal surgery and a Tummy Tuck.

I haven’t heard of any Medicaid covering skin removal. Did you have to meet certain requirements

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
