I was sleeved on the 16th as well but I'm not having that problem. I'm able to drink decent amount of Water without having to worry about any pain. I will say though today was the first time I pooped in 3 weeks lol

Also sleeved on July 16th and I'm constantly sipping. I don't get the urge to pee but I do. My instructions say 48 to 64oz. I don't keep track, I just eye my pee color.

I had mine on July 20 and stayed in hospital for almost three days pain is a whole lot better than the first two days my god it was agony. But nurses are angels and now being at home is nice. I’m trying to sip every 15 minutes one tiny med cup worth of Water or Protein Shake and it’s hard to tell what is what . I still get a somewhat painful inner burp pain but it’s normal.

Does warm/room temperature Water help with the pain?

i have heard that. i think warmer or luke warm liquids go down easier in the first few weeks. so i added broth to my liquid diet yesterday and that was good.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
