Dianerae 11 Posted July 15, 2020 (edited) Hi everyone. Today is 6 months out for me. Doing well. No problems at all...except Constipation. I drink a lot of Water, get in the recommended Protein, exercise and take in less than 20 grams of carbs. a day. My surgery weight was 203 on 1/15/20. Today I weigh 133.2 ...7/15/20. I’m pretty happy with that. I do have to confess I get a bit jealous when I read a lot of you lose quite a bit more than that in the same amount of time. I have lost 10 pounds every months...almost consistently! I can say I have rarely ever went over 500 calories a day since day 1. My goal is 120 lbs. almost there!!! Just wanted to check in and wish everyone well!!!! Edited July 15, 2020 by Dianerae 2 New&Improved and JAKE H reacted to this
catwoman7 11,220 Posted July 16, 2020 you started out at a pretty low weight for a WLS patient, so I'm not surprised that you've lost slowly (although 10 lbs a month really isn't slow - I started out at over 300 lbs, and other than the first month, 10 lbs a month is about what I lost as well...). Anyway, starting BMI is a major factor in your rate of weight loss, so your weight loss is about what I'd expect
Tisha Ann 2 Posted July 16, 2020 I had surgery 6/29 and started at 204. I hope I can come close to your current weight at 6 months. That’s great- congrats!
Arabesque 7,418 Posted July 16, 2020 Congratulations! You should be very happy with what you’ve achieved. You’ve been committed & put in a lot of hard work to get here. I was a very similar starting weight to you & I lost about the same amount in my first 6 months. I don’t think we are slow losers at all. Remember, the more you have to lose the more you lose in the beginning. Oh, the Constipation. Lol. It’s a real joy isn’t it. Would you have imagined the elation you’d feel when you go to the bathroom & actually have a BM. It does make sense when you consider the high Protein diet & the small amount of food you’re consuming though. I can tell you it does improve when you get into maintenance. However, I still have the odd day or two when there’s just nothing happening.
Hop_Scotch 1,632 Posted July 16, 2020 You've done great and by the way 70lb in six months is not slow at all. I'd say for your lower start weight your fat loss was quite quick. Well done!
