My Bariatric coordinator keeps telling me that if I’m over my original weight my insurance will deny me. She keeps saying Aetna is strict but i don’t have Aetna i have Medicaid but it’s called Aetna better health Maryland. I even called my insurance company and they said weight gain is not something that will deny me that’s not something they look at. Help please!
New&Improved 1,780 Posted July 14, 2020 Ask her where she's getting her information from of you've called the insurance company? Sure it's not something she personally wants

New&Improved 1,780 Posted July 15, 2020 Well my surgeon had very little requirements but he says if you can't lose any weight it doesn't look good for you especially if you're on a preop diet...
Elvira OC 4 Posted July 15, 2020 Maybe you could have your insurance company write a letter stating this?
ebbii0927 42 Posted August 2, 2020 If Aenta is administrator of med in your state they might have a say, but its doubtful. There just an intermediate paperwork pusher. I'd do your best to not be over the start value. Don't over worry about it or the stress will cause weight gain. Eddy Blaine Brown II

If the surgery is scheduled then they must have approved it. Hopefully you've had it by now. Good luck!
