I may be in the minority but i prefer my scars over my flappy skin. ...and my scars are pretty significant (I normally scar pretty badly, so it was expected)

Cant see them when I have my arms down, but yeah, when i lift my arms, they are pretty noticeable. And i tend to raise my arms alot...I admit, I’m a Woo-girl, lol.

Based on past experience i know they should fade for ME in a year or two. But you will likely fare MUCH better cuz u heal beautifully!

You’ve probably seen this before, but I’ll just include it for reference anyway:

I'm not at all woo-woo-y 🤣. I think I'm more self conscience about the scars, then my skin? Even if I heal well it will be a year they will be quite visible at least, and will always be somewhat. The further out I get from WLS the fewer people knew fat me. So my arms current arms might be written off to age, but a surgical scar might make people wonder. Your arms do look fantastic, which of course makes it harder for me to decide

I've 95% decided against an arm lift for now. I am going to get more plastics, and was considering an arm lift as an add on procedure. The incremental cost is so much lower then a stand alone surgery. But between the scars and extending and contemplating the recovery, I don't think it's worth it to me right now. Who knows, I could change my mind again before the surgery actually happens!

Well, I am excited to hear about the procedure that you DO decide to do for Round 2! Your tummy and boobs are already GOALS, so can't wait to see what comes next!!!

My arms were the first to go, along with a TT. No regrets. Painless. Super quick recovery. And the scars aren't noticeable unless you walk around with your arms sticking up in the air. Here are my 6 months photos. The only thing that annoys me is he doesn't go all the way to the elbow so scaring wont limit movement so there's a little puff of fat there but I'm sure I'm the only one who notices. I had my legs done last week and it's the same bu my inner knee. But still so much better. Battle scars!

I do want to stress this is only 6 months out so the scars will fade even more. And I haven't used any tapes or creams. Also haven't been working out... I blame covid for closing my gym even though my lazy butt could lift at home. Shhhhh

looks great! glad to hear you didn't have any pain. I don't think I did with my breast lift, but my lower body lift was really painful! Did you have Lipo and muscle tightening? I've read that's what causes most of the pain. Which would explain why I didn't have much pain with the breast lift..

Thanks @catwoman

I don't think my arms are totally awful. The bat wing part isn't a major concern, because I rarely raise my arms like that. It's the draping when wearing short sleeves that I'm self conscience about.

So you can't see your scars in just everyday movements?

I had an extended arm lift- scar from elbow to under middle of each breast to get the loose skin that was at the side boob area. That little bit of creepy wrinkly skin you have was my entire upper arm but twice as wrinkled re the depth of the skin. If I wore elbow length sleeves you could see loose, wrinkly skin hanging out. I had the arms of a 90 year old. If I had your arms I would have been on the fence. Have you done a lot of arm exercises to build up muscles to help with the lose skin? I would suggest getting a consult and maybe you could get the smaller incision that just goes in your arm pit. I don't know if that would "fix" it enough for you but then the incision would be hidden.

My arms were so bad that if I wore a tank top and had my arms down at my side you could see across the room that my arms were terrible looking. Now at 5 months I have a thin red line if my arms are at my side but as soon as I lift my arm up the scar turns skin color/white. So in another 6 months it should be faded even when my arms are down. Now if I am 10 feet from the bathroom mirror and hold my arms up you can see a faint line. I would guess next summer if you are more than 5 feet away you wouldn't probably wouldn't even notice the scar.

The scars on my arms are not noticeable and every day type movement but I am still very aware of them. At the beach and yoga class... because of the SAG craving the vertical incisions are necessary on extremely thin skin. For me when running the extra skin was super irritating Plus the same was true for my inner thigh lift. It has been almost painful bump when moving rapidly. Yeah I’ve got some scars like a roadmap and trade I have a healthy active life - it’s worth a trade for me

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
