Thicc chick 504 21 Posted July 5, 2020 My boyfriend said I would only lose 40-50 pounds that’s 50-70% . Has anyone gotten lower. Is it possible for me to reach my goal weight of 140 pounds. I am having surgery on 7/28. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
Hop_Scotch 1,633 Posted July 5, 2020 You certainly can reach your goal weight with commitment and dedication. Weight loss may be slower and lower the closer you get to your goal weight but you can do it.
Arabesque 7,459 Posted July 5, 2020 Yes, you can do it. You just have to be committed to the program & willing to make the lifestyle changes. The surgery is just a tool - like a gym membership. If you don’t take advantage of it, you can’t expect to achieve your goals. You have to work at it every day. But in saying that, don’t beat yourself up if you slip, we all do. Just get back up & keep going. The benefits are amazing. Good luck with your surgery. Best decision I made. 1 Hop_Scotch reacted to this
catwoman7 11,221 Posted July 5, 2020 he's quoting you the average weight loss. But like with any average, you'll find people who fall on either side of that. There are several people on here who have lost much more than the average (some 100% of their excess weight). It's not easy, but it CAN be done if you're hyper-committed to your program. 1 Thicc chick 504 reacted to this

Im sleeved, the same height as you, and almost same starting weight (I was 10 lbs heavier at 235 lbs). My doc said it would be considered a wls success if I got down to 170...I’m 115 today. Stick to your plan, it can be done. P.S. On a side note, at 225lbs and 5’2”, your BMI is actually 41.15 Edited July 5, 2020 by ms.sss 1 ChubRub reacted to this
Lynnlovesthebeach 626 Posted July 5, 2020 Yes it is totally possible to lose more than predicted . At my first surgeon visit he predicted I could get to 140 lbs. My first post op visit he changed it to 130 lbs. They said my "ideal" weight would be 117.3 lbs and I weighed a little less than that at my last visit for a total of 101% excess body weight lost! I've been maintaining for a few months now. 2 pdc1605 and Thicc chick 504 reacted to this
