RNY4ME2020 39 Posted June 29, 2020 The time has come and tomorrow is the big day. I’m not gonna lie I am nervous. I am not so much worried about the procedure as I am about the pain after. I am also having a hiatal hernia repairs at the same time. 1 minimamaz00m reacted to this
catwoman7 11,220 Posted June 29, 2020 although pain is all across the board, a majority of us have little to no pain with WLS. I'm not sure how the hiatal hernia would affect that, though, since I didn't have one of those, fortunately..
JRT Mom 919 Posted June 29, 2020 I also had to have a hiatal hernia repair. I had a band removed and RNY also. Other than some discomfort in my shoulder, the pain wasn't bad at all. As soon as you can, get up and start walking to help alleviate it. Don't be shy about requesting pain medicine also, as long as you stay on top of the pain it will be minimal. If you try to "tough it out", it's harder to get rid of pain than it is to prevent it. Good luck, you got this! See you on the other side!
RNY4ME2020 39 Posted July 16, 2020 I am now about 3 weeks post op and feeling great. The pain right after surgery was not bad at all. I am down about 22 lbs and feeling good. 1 minimamaz00m reacted to this
minimamaz00m 61 Posted July 17, 2020 I'm so glad you were able to get this done when you did. I have seen more than one post from someone from FL that had their surgery postponed because of the 'rona. Phew!
