Takoda 23 Posted June 21, 2020 Hello all! So I had VSG surgery June 2nd and so far all has been going well with my recovery! No pain, tolerating my soft diet, and I’m losing weight which is amazing! But I’m starting to freak out because I’m starting to notice my skin is loosening. I knew it was going to happen, but I’m thinking if I’m already getting loosening then my skin is going to look crazy by the time I reach goal. I started at 281, lost 20 lbs before surgery, and so far have lost and additional 15 lbs. my goal is to get to 150-160 lbs. I’m currently 36 years old. Is there anything at all that I can do to minimize loose skin? Has anyone tried anything that they find works? 1 seznkids reacted to this
catwoman7 11,221 Posted June 21, 2020 with a 100 lb loss, you're going to have loose skin. I lost over 200 lbs and had a ton of it. Although I eventually had it surgically removed because it drove me crazy, it was very easy to hide in clothes. Nobody knew it was there other than me and my husband. And like the above poster said, given the choice, I would take the loose skin any day over weighing almost 400 lbs again. ANY FREAKING DAY!!! People on here are probably getting sick of this picture, but this is me BEFORE I had the skin removed. See any loose skin? Trust me, there's a ton of it under those clothes - esp on my torso. I just wore "control top" leggings (or standard jeans) and long-ish, slightly oversized tops. Ta da! Skin disappeared! 3 lzucks, mydrvs and lisafrommassachusetts reacted to this
kristieshannon 1,668 Posted June 21, 2020 I started at about your same weight. Down 108 lbs, thinking about 20 more and I’ll call “goal”. I have three consultations with plastic surgeons in the coming weeks, planning for skin removal surgery after the new year. No amount of time is going to make my bat wings or belly skin go away, and my poor boobs are so deflated. I see PS as the final step, and my reward for all the hard work I’ve put in. justinas_journey_vsg 22 Posted June 22, 2020 I have lost 120lbs and I’ve been using collagen peptides and this cream called Firm. It has been amazing for me and has helped my skin on my arms, thighs, and neck immensely. I will have to probably get plastics on my tummy but my arms and thighs are fine. 1 Mb121120 reacted to this
JRT Mom 919 Posted June 22, 2020 Those are some beautiful arms! It's hard to believe a cream could do that, but you have youth on your side. I have the granny flaps from hell--I mean I could really hurt someone if I whapped them upside the head with them. But at 66 all the cream in the world ain't gonna make them shrink... 1 mydrvs reacted to this

This is exactly what I'm telling myself. I'm sure I'll need PS, but it will be a reward to myself for kicking ass.
