TheLdywMoxie 14 Posted June 23, 2020 When I had Anthem they required 6 months. My job switched insurances to bcbstx they didn't require a medically supervised diet but my company required me to complete 10 weeks of Naturally Slim.

NurseJaci13 11 Posted June 28, 2020 6 monthly diet visits (which if done correctly, can be completed in a little over 4 months...it's about timing...lol). I have United Healthcare Choice Plus, but it's an employer self-insured plan...which means my employer made the 6 months requirement a thing, not UHC (I think they have a more general policy). I say this because you may have the same insurance as someone else, but if you get your insurance through your employer, your policy may be vastly different. It was so easy. Started in January and was originally scheduled for Apr 1st. I feel a bit guilty for those who need the surgery more severely and have to fight and appeal. I was looking for info on UHC Choice Plus and discovered you and I are like twins in every way lol. UHC Choice Plus, 5'5, 244 lbs, Texas. 🤣
miamarie0330 7 Posted October 4, 2020 I am just curious---Did your insurance require a medially supervised diet of 3 months or 6 months? Which insurance do you have? TIA!My insurance requires 3 months of supervised weight loss, a psych evaluation, and physical. Sent from my SM-G970U using BariatricPal mobile app
