Dianerae 11 Posted June 18, 2020 Hi, I am 5 months post op. I’m still breaking open my Prilosec, ursodiol and splitting my Topral. When can I stop this and take them whole? Thank you.
catwoman7 11,220 Posted June 18, 2020 I was taking Ursodiol whole at about three weeks out. Everything else I took whole the day I got home from the hospital. 1 Dianerae reacted to this
rjan 164 Posted June 19, 2020 Geeze, I've been taking whole pills since a month out, about the time I started regular food. Go for it!
RickM 1,752 Posted June 19, 2020 As soon as I got home from the hospital. Unless one has substantial inflammation in the stomach narrowing the passage, there is no reason to avoid normal sized pills with a sleeve (some bigger pills like some Calcium tablets may take a few weeks.) Some practices follow old RNY protocols to avoid getting pills stuck in the stoma (which we don't have with a sleeve) but that is far from universal.
