Idk if they're on Bariatric pal, but Premier Protein shakes are pretty good. They've never had a weird taste to me. (atkins, slimfast some of fairlife's make me pretty sick) Quest Protein are also pretty good if you can find them.

One that I've found that's also good is Fairlife High Protein Shake in vanilla. It tastes like melted ice cream. I like to pour it over some chilled Decaf Chai Tea to make a chai tea latte/type drink. it's nice and sweet without the calories of a reg drink.

my two favorites were Unjury and Syntrax. Unjury is only available through Unjury's Web site, but you can find Syntrax products on several Web sites (even the BariatricPal Store) as well as a few regular stores. You can get sample packets from both companies (GNC and Vitamin Shoppe also carry sample packets of some brands). I'd recommend getting samples if you can so you can figure out what you like. Those tubs of Protein are pretty pricey, so you don't want to stuck with one you hate.

I am currently on the pre-op diet, and the Premier Protein shakes are pretty good and can get purchased in bulk at costco. I used the caramel one over iced Decaf coffee and it was amazing. The chocolate one is really good too (as good as Protein Shakes go lol). I did try the coffee flavor and peaches and cream and those were both awful! Good luck!!

Maybe it will taste okay for you. I read good reviews but for me it was super sweet and almost reminded me of Cereal milk lol. I have a hard time with sugary things though, I am fat for my love of carbs lol.

Hello everyone! First post. Any advice to get thru the 14day liquid prepping diet? Day 2 and I am exhausted and feeling hungry.

it gets better by day 3 or 4. Your body goes into ketosis around then, so you won't be as hungry.

most of us went through that. It's the hardest part of the whole ordeal, I thought - but you'll survive. You just have to white knuckle it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
