Teres36 49 Posted June 16, 2020 Congratulations! I’m 2 1/2 weeks out and I add two teaspoons of Benefiber to my Water each day. It’s keeping me regular. Keep sipping, it will get better everyday.

Sent from my LM-Q710(FGN) using BariatricPal mobile app Drink standing up helps then walk around a little bit, especially after/Protien shake consumption. Also dont get scared if you start dropping 2lbs a day. Just hit your h2o and protien goals and you'll do fine. 1 Fay627 reacted to this
Lanie992 168 Posted June 16, 2020 I did Miralax.. it is gentle. I was constipated for days and googled around until I read about someone having to go to the ER because of anal blockage, so make sure to get the Constipation things figured out soon! It's not good to get too backed up.
catwoman7 11,220 Posted June 16, 2020 it's very common for VSG and RNY patients not to have a BM for up to a week after surgery, but I don't know if that's the case for DS patients. I know they often have issues with diarrhea, but I'm not sure if that's true right after surgery. I'd call my surgeon to see if he/she suggests anything. A lot of your intestines are affected by that particular surgery, so if it were me, I'd feel more comfortable with professional advice. 1 Lanie992 reacted to this
TXDS 8 Posted June 17, 2020 I’m 5 months post op DS. I didn’t have the same issues with my bowels, but for Water I kept a shot glass with me and drank it every 15 min. I did that for probably two weeks and it really helped. Good luck! 1 Lanie992 reacted to this
