Things that Taste Like Peanut Butter

Recommended Posts

For some reason I have been craving Peanut Butter and I'm looking for lower calorie alternatives. So far I have found Peanut Butter Built Bars (protein/candy bars) at 170 calories and Julian Bakery ProGranola Peanut Butter Cluster at 110 calories for half a cup.

Any other suggestions?

I echo the PB2 (or PBFit - or any of those powdered peanut butters). It isn't quite the same when you reconstitute it with Water to make a paste - but it'll do in a pinch. But I usually just mix it in with things - like yogurt or chocolate Protein Shakes - then it's OK!

These are tasty when you just need that Sweet chocolate Peanut Butter fix😋. Cheapest by the case on Amazon...decent shelf life. Handy when stuck away from home and need some Protein.

I find that if PB is warm and gooey, it spreads really good and I don't need as much. I like it on a toasted chaffle! It's also good swirled into some greek yogurt!

Bad artificial sweetener, maltitol and maltitol Syrup. Proven to raise blood sugar. Find something with sweetener that doesn't raise blood sugar. Rise in blood sugar releases insulin which then stores unused glucose in fat. Not good for WLS people.

Yes, they’re not an every day item by any means, meaning a case will last you a year. I have never had high blood sugar issues, for me it’s the reverse—frequent low blood sugar. With the Protein and Fiber in these it helps offset a blood sugar spike. For something to offset low blood sugar, these really are purse handy when away from home. And not such that you’d ever want more than one.😊

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
