Flying after Surgery

How soon after surgery can you safely fly?

I had surgery on a Wednesday morning and flew home on the Saturday afternoon. I had planned to fly home the Monday but due to the escalating coronavirus issue I flew a couple of days earlier in case flights to my home state were cancelled. The surgeon would have been happy for me to fly on the Friday but I wasn't up to it then.

My flight was about 1hr45mins.

You'd be best to talk to your surgeon as to how soon after surgery you can fly. If its a long flight dvt needs to be considered.

I had surgery on a Tuesday and flew home on a Thursday. The bumping/bustling of the plan was a little uncomfortable, but otherwise I had no trouble.
