I was sleeved in nov 2017 and lost 120 lbs then I fell pregnant and just had my baby nov 2019. I did fairly well during my pregnancy and only put on 22 lbs.. since giving birth, I was put on antidepressants for PPD and have had a raging appetite and have definitely gained back some weight. With the gyms being closed and raising an infant on my own, I haven’t been taking the best care of myself or making good food decisions. PLEASE help me get back on track! How can I start the weight loss again? I am miserable and want to be healthy for my baby boy 😭

Well, the good thing with having successfully lost the weight once is that you already know the drill--so you don't really need advice on what to eat, portions, etc. It might be encouraging to know that your diet has by far the most impact on your weight loss, and exercise doesn't make much of a difference. So, no problem that you can't get to the gym.

I think the key for you is to not get overwhelmed by how far you need to go and just take things one day at a time. You can control what you eat today, and that's all that matters at this moment. You can do the same tomorrow. You'll get back into a routine before you know it.

Going the Male right at you approach!

Grab the baby stare right at them and contemplate two decisions you have to make

1. Stay the way you are obese and unhealthy and let the baby know you most likely will not be at there graduation because you will be dead from related overweight diseases and you will never see your grandkids also you will be limited in what you can do with him or her as they grow up due to your weight problem and addiction to food!

Or

2. Let the baby know that you are going on a journey to get healthy and happy as he is the reason you must chose number 2 - and inform him this is not going to be easy but you are well worth it, and i need to do this for you and me!

Bet you chose 2

Start tracking your food and exercise, either on MFP or even just a handwritten journal. Try youtube videos for exercise while baby naps! You can do this!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
