ffmedicgrl 21 Posted May 6, 2020 I’ve been told the first 3 days are the toughest. Hoping to get over this hump in another day or so.

NovaLuna 710 Posted May 6, 2020 All surgeons really are different aren't they? My doctor had us go on a two week pre-op diet, but it didn't have to be straight up liquid. We were allowed all the veggies we wanted. Only a half cup of fruit a day and our Protein and dairy was limited as well as our healthy fats. I ate a 1/4 cup of nuts every day during that two week diet lol. Also made giant pots of vegetable Soup to tide me over. Lost almost twenty pounds in that two week period so... it DID work. Also, the surgeon said my liver looked really good so... it did it's job! It's just funny how different all the surgeons do things... 1 PuddinJasper reacted to this
ChubRub 1,709 Posted May 6, 2020 Hang in there!! Just keep thinking about your surgery date and the new start of the rest of your life! I lost 12 lbs on the liquid diet, which was a great jump start too! 1 PuddinJasper reacted to this
catwoman7 11,221 Posted May 6, 2020 you just have to white knuckle it. A lot of us have been there.. I was allowed to eat sugar free popsicles and sugar free Jello (everything else was liquid), so I ate both of those with abandon since they were the only things that somewhat resembled real food. I remember making Jello and then eating half of it (or more!) in one sitting. As someone else said, it does seem to get better by about day 4. 1 PuddinJasper reacted to this
over65 133 Posted May 11, 2020 I have two week pre-op liquid diet. First week full liquids (protein shake) and second week Clear Liquids. I just did one day clear liquid for colonoscopy. But 7 days of clear liquids? I will be struggling. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
New&Improved 1,780 Posted May 11, 2020 After a few days your body will adjust to it I was on shakes for months my own choice 1 PuddinJasper reacted to this
Miss215 21 Posted May 14, 2020 I feel your pain. Today is Day 4 of my pre-op diet and mentally it is getting better, but man am I hungry!!! I am not tempted though. I’m super focused and I’m happy about that. Best of luck to you! My pre-op diet is 2 weeks of 2 Protein Shake “meals” per day and one meal of a lean Protein and veggies, per day. That’s it. It’s crazy to me how different each facility is with their pre-op diet guidelines.
