Kimyana1 0 Posted May 4, 2020 Hi, I need help! I had the sleeve in March of 2015. About a year ago I started gaining weight back. I've gained about 25 lbs back. I recently got a personal trainer and have been working out consistently for 2 months. The problem is the scale hasn't moved. My trainer focuses on strength training. So 4 of the 5 days we workout we are lifting and 1 day is cardio for about 30 minutes. He wants me to eat more because of this but physically I can't ( you guys can relate). He wants me to eat more than 1200 calories a day but I'm only getting in about 600. Maybe 700 or 800 on a good day. I just need advice. I don't know if I should cut back on the strength training or revamp my eating (which I don't know what I should do with my eating). I just want to lose the weight I gained so that I can feel better in my body like I did year 1 and 2 after surgery. Any advise who would! Thanks in advanced. TheRealMeIsHere! 863 Posted May 5, 2020 It happens to many, as old habits creep back in. A taste while we're cooking, just a bite, the thinking, "Well, it's a special occasion" etc..... Go back to basics, back to the eating plan when you first began solid food Lean Protein first plenty of calorie free liquid (stop 1/2 hour before eating and don't drink till 1/2 hour after eating) Non-starchy veggies Stay away from flour, sugar, bread, Pasta, rice, potatoes, starchy veggies (ie; potatoes, winter squash, con, peas, etc...) It worked then, it will work now. You'll be just fine! PS maybe either talk to the trainer and explain that you are just trying to build some lean muscle mass, not bulk up or maybe find a trainer more in tune with your needs

Many trainers have no experience with bariatric patients. A suggestion, Start with 1000 cals as a goal. (I personally gain if I eat over 1200) find your own weight loss cal range.. Don't risk your health by eating 600-700 calories. (that is surgery first stage cal range) Eat meals frequently to increase your calories to 900- 1100. Follow your real food stage weight loss instructions. How did you gain 25 pounds on 600-700 calories?

How did you gain 25 pounds on 600-700 calories? It didn’t happen over night. It’s been over the last 2.5 years. Eating all the wrong things. Not being active at all. I’m sure before i was eating more than that but I’ve cut back to eating about that over the last few months. My job keeps me so busy that if I don’t intentionally make myself eat i won’t eat. But I’m going to start back meal prepping because that seems to be the way I can eat when I’m supposed to and get my calories in.

Before I wouldn’t eat often but i would eat the wrong things. Mainly fast food because my job is so demanding.
