lesleymack2019 26 Posted May 1, 2020 I had VSG surgery December 17 2019 and I’m wondering is it too early to have a glass of wine 2 1 Stinkerbells2ndact, lesleymack2019 and GreenTealael reacted to this
NovaLuna 710 Posted May 2, 2020 Most surgeons say to wait at least six months while some say to wait a whole year, but you're close to the six month mark so... I personally, don't think a glass would hurt, but you could always check with your surgeon. 1 1 Stinkerbells2ndact and lesleymack2019 reacted to this

JessLess 1,163 Posted May 2, 2020 I had a drink fairly early, 3 months out. Joke's on me, I don't get a buzz from alcohol anymore, just a wicked hangover. 1 Stinkerbells2ndact reacted to this
ms.sss 15,724 Posted May 2, 2020 My first drink was at 1-2 months. It didn’t take much to affect me. It was only a couple sips of red wine and i got tipsy pretty fast. But I also sobered up just as fast. Told my doc, he said to be responsible. (I find him to be more lenient and chill than others I’ve read about on here). It was a rare occasion for me to drink during weight loss phase (i dont even think I ever even was able to drink an entire serving when i did). In maintenance, it was a different story, though. 1.5 years out and i still get affected and unaffected at a faster rate than pre-wls. Use your honest judgement and the advice of your doc to make your decisions. Good Luck! ❤️ 1 Stinkerbells2ndact reacted to this
