Inspired by this thread. And as to be expected people say thank you.

So there is someone giving advice. A lot of people write about their problems and ask for advice. Sometimes they only want to rant, but a lot of the time they ask for advice. And usually they get it.

So when we look at the thread I linked in the first line I see users saying "thank you" and "great tips" etc. and that is all fine and we see it in many threads where advice is given. "Oh, great advice, I'm going to try this!" and "Thank you, sounds great" etc. and this is of course the polite way to respond.

However, I usually don't see someone really giving feedback about what worked or what didn't work. Someone might say that plain Water is hard to drink. Makes him gag, especially when it's at room temperature. So someone suggests ice cold water, others suggest hot tee, another might suggest an air up bottle and so on. But there almost never seems to be any feedback about what worked or (maybe even more important!) what didn't work for them.

Am I just not seeing this because I look at the wrong threads? Or do users really don't give feedback e. g. a few weeks later?

I personally haven't given much feedback, as I don't think I'm far along in my journey. I have however given the advice I've been given by my dietitian and surgeon. But I also realise that what works for one person won't work for another.

E.g. avoid ice cold drinks, stick to cool drinks and flavour with sugar free cordials.

I was also told to add 4 tbsps of marvel (dried milk) to a pint of skim milk to drink throughout the day for an added 40g of Protein :)

I no longer have the puree diet sheet, but here is the week 5-8 soft phase and week 8 onwards solid food stages if you're interested :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
