Mfrayne 1 Posted April 9, 2020 Just wondering if anyone has tried these. I have had them before surgery but wondering if they are okay for after. Sent from my SM-A530W using BariatricPal mobile app
catwoman7 11,220 Posted April 9, 2020 check with your surgeon. Some of them don't want you to drink carbonated beverages at all after surgery - as in for the rest of your life - and others are OK with it once you're out a ways and your stomach can handle it (mine can't - so I gave up trying). At any rate, even for those surgeons who are OK with it after you're out a few months, I'd be very surprised if they gave you the green light while you're still healing. NovaLuna 710 Posted April 9, 2020 My particular surgeon doesn't want anyone to drink anything carbonated as he says it stretches the pouch back out. However, a lot of people can't give up their carbonated stuff so he says it's allowed after a year, but he doesn't recommend it. 1 catwoman7 reacted to this
Arabesque 7,426 Posted April 10, 2020 I’m not good with sparkling Water or carbonated drinks unless I let them sit for a while to reduce some of the gas (get tightness then terrible hiccups). Do a test by pouring a glass and letting it go a little flat and see how you go.
