I know I am early out, but I can't imagine what you could eat to get that much Protein in a day without some sort of supplement. Would love to hear from the veterans. Whenever I go shopping I always look for high Protein yoghurt and things like that but even now in maintenance mode I still enjoy shakes
angryspice 31 Posted August 29, 2020 (edited) I'm not a vet, so I still do a Protein Shake or Protein Powder (usually GENEPRO in pudding) on most days of the week, but there are definitely days I go without a supplement. on those days, I am typically eating some combination of the following foods: 3-4oz of meat or fish (~20-28 grams), greek yogurt (15g), a cup of Beans (~15g+/-), Yasso frozen greek yogurt bars (5-6g each) various cheeses (~5-7g per serving), cashews (~5g per ~1/4 cup), eggs (6g each) oats (~2-3g per 1/4 cup). chia seeds (~2-3g per tbs), ground flaxseed (~1-2g per tbs), some veggies (peas in particular) and even bread and other carbs have small amounts of Protein, and It all adds up at the end of the day. I always get 60+ grams per day, but usually more. I don't eat a lot of meat and try my best to limit all deli/processed meats, but I do find that is the easiest, most efficient way to get the protein in without a supplement. chunkarella 59 Posted August 31, 2020 I know this is an old thread.. but something I have found that fits amazingly in my diet is Tilapia. I know fish isn't ideal, and i HATE fish, but tilapia absorbs any flavors you put into it and doesn't taste fishy!! Marinating it in some lemon juice with some garlic and herbs, then throwing it in the air fryer is amazing. For 1 loin, its about 30g of Protein. So it's akin to a Protein Shake. That right there is 1/2 of my daily protein. I got a bag of individually packaged ones at BJ's (like sams club/costco) and they're frozen and ready to go when I am. putting it w/some steamed broccoli or shredding it up onto 1/2 a veggie wrap for fish "tacos" is really nice to do. almost feels normal to eat. 1 Lynda486 reacted to this
