How much do you have in your 4cc band?

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering what is the most someone has in their 4cc band? I don't really know how much I have, I forgot to ask last time.

3cc, after 2 years and 6 fills.

I heard something VERY interesting today though.I'm really unusual to have that much in my band and not be tight, I can still eat bread etc, I just get full quickly.

I was dropping my daughter off at daycare and someone asked how I'd lost so much weight so I told her. She said her MIL and SIL both have bands, but SIL is on medication to dry up her saliva because otherwise the band doesnt work for her, she produces too much saliva which means her body can lubricate ANYTHING through and food empties from the pouch very quickly. Whodathunk it? Never heard of it, but it makes me wonder if I have more saliva than normal since I seem to be so much in the minority with how much freedom I have with 3cc in a 4cc band. But I've lost all my weight so I dont really care, its just interesting. In fact I'm going to start another post to see if anyone's heard of it!

I have had about 8 fills but my doctor really takes it slow with the fills. She puts very little at a time. I go back next Thurs so I will find out. I need a slight fill. Thanks for your responses.

Banded in February, but always check in on Jan. site.

I have 3.8cc's in a 4cc band.

Getting nervous cause I only have .2cc's to go, and still a good deal of weight to take off.

Does anyone know what happens when we reach 4CC's?:cry

I was at 3.8 cc's in my 4cc band, but I "thought" I needed to be tighter because I didn't have to take big bites of food. I just got full quick....

So, after getting tighter to 4.0 it was too tight and caused a lot of problems (ended up being admitted into the hospital)

Now because of that, I'm back down to 3.0 cc's but need to be more. I wish I would have left it at 3.8cc's it was perfect!

My doctor said it can actually hold more than 4.cc's. And you'll be amazed sometimes just what .2ccs can do. I wouldn't stress over it. I know a lady that had 4.7 cc's in it and was at restriction finally.

Well I went to the Dr. Tuesday and she said I know have 2.9cc. This is about my 9th or 10th Fill. She only puts like .2cc at a time. I am really feeling restiction, I am having a hard time eating 2oz. of meat and like 2 pieces of brocolli. I think I needed that kick in the but, I have slowed down a lot on the weight loss. I am hoping to be at goal by March.

Someone said on here that there is also some amount that is in the port tube which makes sense to me. So, how much does that hold and what does that amount do to the grand scheme of things.

I have the big honker..10cc's with 7 in it. I'm thinking about a fill after the new year.

My doc takes every bit of my fill out everytime I go in for a fill and we are always missing about .5 to .7cc's, he said there is no way he can get it all out because the tubing always holds some. So I think its about .5 to .7 in the tubing, just from the 7 different fills I've had.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
