@JRT Mom I’m almost 4 weeks post-op gastric sleeve. I used to weigh every day until about a week and half ago. I realized around week 2 that I don’t lose weight every day. I lose a pound or two (usually just one) every 3-4 days. So for my sanity, I now weigh about every 4 days.

Ditto what zoomzoom said - started out daily but with a LONG 3 week stall I switched to weekly and that's what I do now.

I always recommend people not to weigh daily in order not to get discouraged at stalls. However, I can't seem to follow my own advice as I weigh daily. I CERTAINLY don't practice what I preach! 😊

I want to weigh daily SO bad, but I weigh once a week. Otherwise, I'll drive myself insane. Can't do once a month- I'd tear my... hair? out. (I shaved my head this week lol).

I weighed daily the first three years or so and then switched to once a week. In maintenance (as long as you're staying in maintenance, that is...) you're pretty much bouncing up and down the same 3 or 4 lbs all the time, so it gets frustrating. I just weigh myself once a week now and jump into action if I get out of my acceptable range.

When I first got my surgery I was in so much pain that I was not able to weigh in as often as I did before surgery, which was daily. Then I went to every 1 or 2 weeks. With this ridiculous COVID-19 I am back to daily, mainly because before all of this craziness started I was told by my nurse that I will probably have to have revision surgery because my weight-loss should have slowed down by now. I told her that I do not ever, ever, ever, again want to do any surgery, EVER again. I don't regret the surgery but, surgery again, no thank you. I had somewhat of a nightmare of a surgery story. So, right before the craziness I tried to up my calories a bit more and I think that I was successful in actually being able to maintain my weight for almost a month. Which sadly, I had NEVER been able to accomplish before so yeah, Yay! me, anyhow I am back at daily due to the fact of all the worry that I have been overcome with because of this horrible virus, I have had no appetite, therefore not eating, therefore losing an unhealthy amount of weight in far too short of an amount of time.

Side note: Yes! people it is a lie that you will feel no hunger once you have had a weight-loss surgery, perhaps it depends on the style of surgery, I don't know.

I am back at Protein Shakes, dare I say (bwwaahahaa) journaling my food intake and weighing myself daily.

I’m weighing twice a week. Wednesdays & Sundays. Originally was trying for once a week, but couldn’t hold back.

Super frustrated since I actually gained a pound this time! WTH! So unfair when I 🤮 yesterday due to Vitamins not settling. Seems like I’m checking all the right boxes, so, who knows? Trying to not obsess, but don’t get it. As Scarlett says...”Tomorrow is another day...” although in this case it’s a Wednesday since I’ve got to wait til next weigh in for hope, lol.

I weigh myself once every morning but I only log the weight once a week (every Monday). I find, for myself, this actually helps. I see my weight fluctuate on a day-to-day basis, but overall, over the week it's still going down. I found that when I stopped being regular about weighing myself after I had my sleeve done, that that's when I started to gain weight without noticing. By the time I did notice, it was hard for me to reverse the trend.

I'm all over the place lol. I try and only weigh in once a week but sometimes it's twice a week and sometimes it's once every TWO weeks (particularly when I'm in a stall like I have been for the last two weeks... -_-')

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
