Wondering WHY I did it!

Hello all:

I underwent gastric sleeve surgery on February 26, 2020 so I'm just about 4.5 weeks out. I'm following diet rules to the letter and ingesting at least 60 ounces of Fluid daily. I have lost 13 pounds in the 4.5 weeks. I read about others who have lost 24 or so in the same time period. I don't know what earthly good going through holy hell with the surgery did. I asked my surgeon if she was successful in removing most of my stomach and she said she was certain that she did. I average about 600 - 700 calories daily. The only positive thing I can think of about the surgery is that I cannot eat TOO much. I did that once and I suffered. Still wondering why. It was terribly painful, and I had a lot of nausea. Don't know if it was worth it.

Stick with the plan, it will definitely be worth it! I was thinking the same this week and I'm 4wks out of MGB today.

I had a stall this week and gained 1lb but woke up this morning to a 1.5lb loss.

I'm definitely not drinking enough Water, I just can't fit it in! :D

I found this video which helped me realise I'm not doing anything wrong and it's perfectly normal to stall or lose slowly, especially if you lost a lot before surgery (i lost 100lbs prior to my MGB) :)

I have wanted to eat everything in sight, mainly out of boredom being in lockdown for 12wks! Maybe it's worth speaking to a therapist? The mind plays a huge part in satiety. You might be dealing with head hunger? I'm speaking to a therapist 21st April :)

I did therapy for food addiction last year and it absolutely changed my life ❤️

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
