healthyamy20 1 Posted March 24, 2020 I have been working so hard for a year getting prepared for my surgery now it was scheduled for tomorrow March 25. It was cancelled last week and I am very bummed out about it. I completely understand I am not the only one on this same situation. I am just anxious with out knowing when the surgery can be rescheduled for. I am doing my surgery at Loyola Hospital and they do not have dates to reschedule selective surgeries yet. 1 Tracyringo reacted to this
Machalo 283 Posted March 24, 2020 Oh, I'm so sorry you have been caught up in all of this turmoil, too! Hopefully it won't be for too long. I'm hoping for the best, but preparing for my April 13 surgery to be postponed. I'm just going to keep on my journey though, practicing all the skills that I will need after surgery and getting my head totally wrapped around the changes that are going to be made. Come out to the forums when you feel discouraged or low. There are lots of folks going through this same issue right now and everyone is pulling together to make it bearable. Wishing you all the very best! 2 Tracyringo and PuddinJasper reacted to this
TNK 0 Posted April 3, 2020 After putting in all the work. I received my approval to have surgery. Due to Covid-19, the hospital has postponed non emergency surgeries. I am hoping I can get a date in mid-may to early June
VIN_IN_AL 55 Posted April 5, 2020 (edited) Yep, I received the bad news today, Saturday 4/4/2020. My April 23rd surgery date has been canceled and will be reschedule some time later this year. It was expected given the growing numbers of cases in the US. However, I was hoping that in Alabama where the state wide cases are still under 2,000 that a late April date would be safe, guess not. When I asked about a future date I was told that none of the area hospitals are taking and surgery rescheduling and that any updates are at least 30 to 45 days away. And to make things worse, the "unemployment" subject is now beginning to enter discussions at work. I am self-pay and have decided - IF - my income flow is interrupted, I WILL NOT request a refund, I am committed to get this surgery no matter what happens on the financial front.
