CammyC 291 Posted March 18, 2020 (edited) I tried the Ricotta cheese bake and now I’m so freaking sick! I bought two tubs of ricotta cheese because I was so excited to try it and I loved Ricotta before surgery. What a waste! This is a learning experience. I feel like I’m having the dumping syndrome again. So apparently anything with milk is going to mess with me right now. Thank God I’m at home when trying it out. It smelled so good at first and now I’m nauseous from smelling it in the kitchen. This really blows. summerset 5,265 Posted March 18, 2020 I'd recommend maybe not eating it on its own. Maybe it's too heavy in fat and Protein. (I'd mix with some bread in between but that's me.)
CammyC 291 Posted March 18, 2020 I made Shelly’s Ricotta bake from her blog. It was mostly Ricotta tho.
GreenTealael 25,439 Posted March 18, 2020 Try different/more/less spices, perhaps the spices used caused nausea

CammyC 291 Posted March 18, 2020 From the world according to eggface blog: Shelly's Ricotta Bake 8 oz of Ricotta cheese 1/2 cup grated Parmesan 1 large Egg, beaten 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning salt & pepper to taste 1/2 cup Marinara Sauce 1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasonings together and place in a oven proof dish. Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake it in the oven @ 450 for about 20-25 minutes (best) or nuke it till hot and bubbly. I usually made it first in the oven and heated the leftovers in the microwave. 1 Stinkerbells2ndact reacted to this
summerset 5,265 Posted March 18, 2020 My stomach would turn as well. I'm sensitive to these fat/protein only combos. Plus in general it sounds like something that you might tolerate later on but not 2 weeks out of surgery though this differs vastly of course. 1 CammyC reacted to this
summerset 5,265 Posted March 18, 2020 Maybe try again in 2 or 3 weeks if you liked the taste of it? 1 CammyC reacted to this
catwoman7 11,221 Posted March 18, 2020 Maybe I asked you this before, but could it be lactose intolerance? That's not uncommon after weight loss surgery. Sometimes it goes away after awhile, though...
CammyC 291 Posted March 18, 2020 @catwoman7 I am definitely lactose intolerant now.

SlimChickadee 219 Posted March 19, 2020 Me tooooo! Made it and dumped for hours it seemed! I think Lactose intolerance for me! Tried bran Cereal with 2% milk instead of my unsweetened almond milk and had same reaction! 1 1 CammyC and Krimsonbutterflies reacted to this
catwoman7 11,221 Posted March 19, 2020 a lot of this sounds like lactose intolerance rather than true dumping. And LI is WAY more common... 3 1 Krimsonbutterflies, SlimChickadee, biginjapan and 1 other reacted to this
