Butterfly#7 65 Posted March 15, 2020 It’s been almost 10 months since my gastric sleeve surgery. I’m really excited that I’ve lost almost 90 pounds! Oddly enough my skin seems drier and Even more sensitive than before the surgery. Before the surgery I used to get rashes and yeast infections under my breasts and behind my knees. Now behind my knees are so itchy and dry. I will admit that I need to drink more Water and this probably why my skin is so dry. Has anyone else experienced this? Even the skin on my belly is itchy. 1 MsMocie reacted to this
Sammi_Katt 303 Posted March 15, 2020 Yeaaa, itchy skin is a pain. I use the gold bond eczema cream to help with it, but I also take fish oil. It's really helped my skin a lot. Plus, drinking at least 72oz of Water a day. Gotta stay hydrated, and your skin will love you for it. Congrats on the weight loss! That's fantastic!
AZhiker 2,253 Posted March 15, 2020 (edited) Part of it could be fat malabsorption, and the fact that you are eating a lot less fat now than before surgery. My skin and hair are very dry every since surgery, but I also have fat malabsortion. I never used Shampoo for dry hair before, but I do now. Lots of moisturizer, and of course, you just have to drink the Water. The good side is that there are no more fungal infections from hot, moist skin. Riva_G. 40 Posted April 20, 2020 That’s really interesting. I realized that my skin was so much dryer lately. I didn’t realize it could be because of surgery. Just another thing to add to the list of ‘weird things that have been happening to me because of surgery’ 😂
