For Those who had Robotic Gastric Bypass

Recommended Posts

For those who had Robotic Gastric Bypass, how many days did you stay in the hospital including your surgery date? I was told if all goes well and I am scheduled for the surgery in the AM which I am scheduled for 10:30 am, I will be discharged the next afternoon as long as I am keeping fluids down.

I walked and walked and sipped and sipped and was home the next afternoon. No complications

I had complications and ended up staying in the hospital for three days. However, that had nothing to do with the fact that it was robotic surgery.

I had robotically assisted sleeve and was in hospital for two days because oral pain meds were made nauseous. Surgery Thursday morning at about 10 a.m. out on Saturday at 10 am.

I had my surgery on 3/19. I went in at 7:30 AM, I had extensive adhesions so my surgery was twice as long if not longer than expected. I was discharged the following day at noon.

I had robotic gastric bypass on 3/11/20. Went in at 8am, 10:30am surgery, all was great! I walked, walked, walked and thought I had this. Then, close to noon on the 12th, nausea came on and I could not imagine holding anything down. It was like my stomach was in my throat and was not about to let anything by. They increased anti nausea IV meds and by evening I was over it. I stayed the 2nd night to be safe. They sent me home with Zofran every 8 hours, Promethazine liquid yuck Syrup every 6 hours, Gabapentin liquid every 8 hours. Even now, 2.5 weeks out, I still get quite nauseated if I don’t take anti nausea meds. Getting better....but not there yet.

I was supposed to be discharged the next day after surgery. Ended up getting a Migraine and vomiting for hours so I needed another day for fluids but yes that sounds normal. Good luck!

I had my surgery on a Wednesday around noon and was discharged Friday afternoon. I could've gone home on the day after but was having problems peeing because of the scopolamine patch they put behind my ear for nausea. There was no way I could've gone home the day after, I just felt so awful.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
