i’m so excited! i know compared to others my wait time is basically nothing but boy has all this caused some anxiety. (my insurance requires no supervision visits but i did them anyway) i started this journey December 31st 😁. at times i've felt like i was being pulled in every direction & now here i am. today i'll be doing a lab to make sure i’ve stopped smoking weed..i’ll pass that sh@# with flying colors & boom i'll be sent off.. hoping my approval comes fast ❤️

I've always said that Einstein was right about the theory of relativity when it comes to the WLS approval process. Time c-r-a-w-l-s while you are waiting, and then you hit a time warp, and BAM!! suddenly you are checking into the hospital for your surgery. Buckle up and hang on--it's gonna be a WILD ride!!

I’m manifesting that approval & I’m owning this year! Finished my bachelors, regrowing my dreadlocs and getting my sleeve.. best year ever! Lol

You should be fine, get ready to transition into a totally new life. I started my journey Sept 2018 and just had surgery last week. I have had alot of changes in my life and I saw this through all of the pain (my son was murdered this past Jan. ) . I had to finish what he & I started together in his honor and to make sure I'm here for my grandson. I don't want to go into my stuff, I share that to say...Enjoy your journey and take control of your life, don't live in fear, life is extremely unpredictable and short...make your life the best life for you. Grow your locks, continue practicing yoga, be fearless, be positive and ride the waves of your life.

Stay present in each moment, take slow deep breaths and keep a journal. This is life changing and you will reas what you wrote a year from now and realize that you are not the same person, but better. Don't stress the approval process time, you have so many other things to enjoy. Save money for your new everything, I promise you will be there transitioning on that surgery table in the blink of an eye.

Man! Thank you! That really means a lot. Sometimes I get so caught up in things I want that I don’t even concentrate in whats happening now! I’m so excited for this journey! Initially I was worried about being denied since my BMI is 37/38ish. But I’m owning it, like I said this year is mine plus my insurance is so lax about requirements. Thank you for your words, they mean a lot! And again, I’m sorry about your son... it takes nothing but STRENGTH to pick yourself up from that!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
