Dawn Hanaphy 57 Posted February 29, 2020 LOL I am a fan of caffeine free diet coke. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
catwoman7 11,221 Posted February 29, 2020 not sure which kind of coke you meant - but at a week out, neither! Some surgeons ban carbonated beverages for life, some are OK with it once you are a few weeks or months out as long as it doesn't bother your stomach. But no one is going to give you the green light for that at a week out... 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

Drugs and maintaining health rarely work. Good Luck. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

Lily66 425 Posted February 29, 2020 Well far from “coke”, my Dr. suggested medical marijuana tincture drops under my tongue following back surgery last year. I take it a few times weekly as needed. Much better than narcotic pain relievers. Has anyone had experience with medical marijuana tincture drops post op WLS? Thanks. 1 breavsg reacted to this

JRT Mom 919 Posted February 29, 2020 No judgement, but cocaine is a vasoconstrictor, so I'd think it might inhibit your healing to a degree. You might want to give yourself some time for everything to heal before using cocaine. Maybe stick to weed instead? 1 Krimsonbutterflies reacted to this

Yep they were a life saver for me, I am a baby when it comes to pain. They got me through and I used the same pain relief THC/CBD cream I use for that time of the month on my stomach too. It helped wean me off the narcotic pain meds to just taking extra strength Tylenol. I was careful with my ratio of THC:CBD because I didn't want to be head high and forget to be careful. I took like an 18:1 1 Lily66 reacted to this

My pre-op is Tuesday, will ask surgeon but glad to know you have had no issues. Continued best wishes, and Thanks!

Just make sure you tell your anesthesiologist if you use cannabis, in some patients it makes putting you under harder I guess. I had never had any surgeries before but I read several articles about this. So every where I turned I made sure they knew. I had no problems that I know of, I mean no said anything after. Just make sure you tell your during pre-op appointment and surgeon and everyone. Just to be safe. 1 Lily66 reacted to this
Darktowerdream 421 Posted March 1, 2020 Don’t know if the OP is trolling. But I do find it funny that sugar has the same or more addictive tendencies as Cocaine in its reactions in the brain. And the soda Coke used to be laced with cocaine because it was considered medicinal. I have very high pain tolerance but also have very high pain levels on nearly a daily basis due to chronic illness. It made my surgery a challenge to say the least as well as I had my gallbladder removed at the same time. The hardest part was I was rendered bed bound after surgery, which sent every pain signal into overdrive. i didn’t know nsaids would be off the table for life. But still have no regrets about the surgery since it was all or nothing at that point for me. I needed that tool to fight my weight, I had nothing left. And the impact of the weight was wrecking havoc on my body and mind. I have little to no pain control now. I’m struggling with it. But CBD is expensive and is more a placebo effect it’s only scientifically proven for epilepsy. It works best with TCH. Which I cannot risk side effects of even if I could afford it. (Even natural herbals have side effects and risks, especially for certain people) To the OP, troll or not? Think about things before you say them. Is drinking or smoking that important to your life that you need to do them. What role do they have for your life? If there is chronic pain involved that wasn’t mentioned seek pain management, most people have options that I do not have such as physical therapy, seeing a pain management specialist, injections for pain, acupuncture, yoga, Medical marijuana, etc. and well if this is someone trolling ... I guess I’ve wasted what little energy I don’t have on a troll. 1 1JoAnne reacted to this
