Formulite Lupin Soup - anyone tried?

Recommended Posts

I will be undergoing a revision from ESG to gastric sleeve mid March, I have been looking at Protein products for the pureed/soft post op stages. I came across lupin Soup made by Formulite. Just wondering if any one has tried it? How did you find it?

I could also Water it down more and filter for use in the liquid stage if needed. My program has a short liquid phase. I'd only be using it for a short while for the pureed/soft stage.....I could probably do my own broth thing and add flavourless protein powder...but I know me I wouldn't bother making the broth so best to have something on hand other than Protein Shakes or protein water.

Thanks

I purchase a small bag of lupin flour to try making alternative breads etc but haven't worked with it yet

Let us know how it taste!

Also it looks like most of the Protein is from collagen (hydrolyzed beef bone) so if you don't end up liking this particular Soup you *could* just potentially add any unflavored collagen Protein Powder you like to and soup/broth to get the same macros!

Yes! I have a bag of this. I liked it, it's quite chunky with bits of lupin in it, but your straining idea would work. The flavour was good. I hated the formulite shakes, but the Soup was a winner. I got the chicken one I think.

Of the three flavours - beef, chicken and vegetable, I bought the beef.

It looks and taste more like it should be vegetable Soup. I didn't mind the soup or the flavour. Definitely something for pre-op (as alternative to a shake) or post op as a convenience food once past liquid/pureed/soft food stages. It is quite 'gritty' with the lupin flakes which like to settle on the bottom.

It's not something I would Water down, as I mentioned above, it would be quite tasteless. If I buy the soup again, I will try the chicken flavour.

I bought some unflavoured collagen Protein powder at the same time, I will try that with broth in the week.

Thanks
