Has anyone in the forums had a sleeve/RNY/whatever and later put on muscle? I'm looking to pick someone's brain about how to put on muscle (which requires extra calories). I'm going to a gym today for a tour and am going to hire a personal trainer until I've learned the ropes and feel comfortable that I can workout alone and without the accountability of a trainer.

Any thoughts will help.

Thanks.

I have been working out for about 3 months now and i see little muscle development, However i am getting tighter and fit. This is really hard to do balance the increase in calories and working out and Not putting on fat! i have a cross fit insane kid who is helping me with supplements and such. I am going to follow this thread also but from what i am told from my Trainer it is a long journey

It takes time, but if you work at it, you will get there! I am only trying to tone. Slow going but seeing progress. It is good that you are starting with a personal trainer. They will help you a lot. Just consult your nutritionist about the food for building muscle. I don't think a lot of personal trainers have experience counseling bariatric patients on nutrition. I could be wrong... but I can't imagine they have many bariatric surgery customers.
