Sooooo... I normally have fairly dry skin, but ever since surgery, it's been ridiculous! I have to smother myself in lotion like three times a day now (I use gold bond eczema cream), but I will have scaly skin again after like... an hour.

Is this normal? I take Biotin with my Multivitamin. If it is normal, how long does it last? Or does it never go away?

I went through a dry skin phase, but went back to normal after a few months

I have been putting Bulletproof collagen powder in my coffee every day for about 6 months. I was skeptical about it helping my dry, flaky. crepey old lady skin but it has really helped a great deal. I still use Cetaphil daily but I see a huge difference in the appearance and feel of my skin. Best price I have found is at Sams.

I have dry skin also. I thought as long as I stay hydrated I would be okay. Part of it could be the dry indoors that we experience in winter. I have looked at collagen also, but wonder about calories?

I was wondering if it could be due to the decrease in consuming fats? Seems logical...🤔

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
