Xolosing 0 Posted February 23, 2020 I just want to see if anyone else experienced this. So I’m 5 days post op, I had my surgery on the 18th and was discharged from the hospital on the 19th. Every since I been home I have been having these sharp shoulder pains that feels like I pulled a muscle. Every time I inhale to breathe I can feel the sharpness in my shoulder . Has anyone else experienced this?
catwoman7 11,220 Posted February 23, 2020 sounds like gas pains. They'll go away after a few days. 1 Xolosing reacted to this
Lynda486 784 Posted February 23, 2020 It could be a muscle pain as well. While in surgery they pose you in many different ways which can cause post op muscle pain. Eventually it will all go away. I hope for you it is soon!
Uomograsso 364 Posted February 23, 2020 Yes, they typically tilt your head down 15 to 30 degrees. Called the Trendelenburg position.
Sammi_Katt 303 Posted February 23, 2020 It could be gas pain, too. Try walking as much as possible to disperse it, and maybe if you can, have someone gently pound on your back to help break it up. I had it pretty bad for 4-5 days after surgery. If it's a muscle, warm compress will make things nicer and soothe it.
Tory Myers 1 Posted February 23, 2020 Yes I am experiencing the same pain u had my surgery on the 19th and from what I researched, this pain comes from the co2 that was places In our stomach to expand areas so the doctors and see. This gas has irritated our nerve that is connected to our shoulder and diaphragm. Like you I am wondering when it will go away I’m so uncomfortable
