Want to be smaller 0 Posted February 22, 2020 Hi! I saw a few posts on here where people have had weight loss surgery and their BMIs are less than 35. I cannot find a doctor who will perform any type of procedure on me because my BMI is 33. I go to the gym and I eat fairly healthy, I just need a little extra help. I don’t want to take pills. I just want to eat less. I live in the Northeast part of the US, so finding a doctor should, in theory, be easy. But it’s not. Could someone please send me some info on a doc or program who will help me? Thanks!!
KCgirl061 1,532 Posted February 22, 2020 I think you can go to Mexico for self pay bariatrics below the 35 BMI. I haven't heard of any in the states though. Just be aware that there is a reason that they have a minimum BMI. There is concern that you lose so much you could get close to underweight. 1 "Henry" reacted to this
GreenTealael 25,430 Posted February 22, 2020 If you have other problems (diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea etc) it may help your case. Otherwise Medical Tourism is an easier path (self pay) Good Luck ❤ 1 "Henry" reacted to this
