GotItDoneInHarlem 302 Posted February 15, 2020 I weight about 10 pounds more today than the day of my RNY (which was Tuesday). How is this possible? Is it all retained Fluid from having an IV and fluids after surgery?

lisafrommassachusetts 319 Posted February 15, 2020 I had heard about this phenomenon, so I am waiting until my follow up appointment with the nutritionist 11 days after the surgery. This post op is hard enough without seeing the scale go UP!

I had my surgery the Monday before you; I also weighed more and looked huge; I am now down about 6 pounds from my weight the day of surgery. I had some trouble getting the bowels going, and had to take Miralax, but once that started and I kept drinking the clear fluids the weight has started to drop off.
