Please Sent from my SM-J737A using BariatricPal mobile app I had my sleeve on Monday, and I really hear you. I messaged with the hospital nutritionist today and was told to stop trying to get the Protein Drinks in and just concentrate on hydrating liquids because I was showing signs of dehydration, i.e. headache and urine darker than normal. She also said the nausea may abate a bit once I get hydrated, and that regardless for most people it abates over the next few days. I am genuinely hungry now. Even though the thoughts of eating anything makes me slightly sick. The Protein Water is disgusting. Here is what I have gotten in today: 24 oz. of water 1 sugar free popsicle (2 oz. of liquid) 1/2 serving of Swanson chicken Bone Broth (4 oz) (also about 4.5 g of protein). Ginger Tea with a 1/2 tsp of Stevia (8 oz.) I also had a c. of Iconic chocolate Truffle Protein Drink heated up and drank it as hot chocolate. I can tolerate the Iconic better since it uses Stevia and Monk fruit juice instead of the aspartane or sucralose. The headache is gone, so even though I have not hit the mark for Clear Liquids I think I may be rehydrated. But my total calories today are 66! No wonder I'm hungry! How the heck do we get through the next 6 days of this?
tal 129 Posted February 16, 2020 If this helps, when i first had my sleeve done i threw up the broth because it was sooo gross to me. The 2nd week i tried eating Soup (dont do) but it made me sick also but i was sooo hungry and i was so used to eating food that i was in shock on what i did to my body. My advice is eat sugar free popsicles and drink alot of liquids. Thats what helped me. I drained some Soups though and drank the broth from those and that helped but i drank alot of Water, tea, and like sugar free gatorades. Good luck!☺️
LDanielle 9 Posted February 16, 2020 I am ok with the shaved ice and I do better with cold liquids vs room temp I was told i can have boost glucose control and carnation healthy start which are helping I keep forgetting the tea ... ..and have bouts of hangry because everybody else in the house must be fed. This zero yogurt i have Monday is going to be the best ever lol. Didn't realize how emotional I would be and how fast the weight would be coming off even before surgery i lost 7 lbs from Friday to Monday. I have a heightened sense of smell for food for some reason. I keep getting random painful hiccups and only two of my incisions hurt but the others itch like crazy which I know signifies healing but oddly enough where they injected my blood thinner days ago itches more than anything. But I'm trying to stay positive ..and not bite somebody lol 1 tal reacted to this

loridee11 522 Posted February 17, 2020 (edited) My DR allowed greek yogurt and cottage cheese for RNY patients that early out. Only 2 oz at a time, but I pretty much lived on those the first week (in addition to Protein shakes). Edited February 17, 2020 by loridee11
LDanielle 9 Posted February 17, 2020 Mine told me I could add those Protein Shakes too because I had trouble drinking the water.. or had helped tremendously I start the solid liquids ie yogurt tomorrow.
