catwoman7 11,220 Posted February 12, 2020 I have moderate osteoarthritis in my right hip and mild osteoarthritis in both knees. Of course, the damage that's been done has been done, but I have MUCH less pain now that I've taken off 200 lbs. I used to get cortisone shots regularly and took naproxen like it was candy. I haven't had an injection in probably three years, and I don't take anything for the pain anymore. When I do get it, it's mild and very tolerable. 1 FluffyChix reacted to this

Sammi_Katt 303 Posted February 12, 2020 I have arthritis in my left knee from a bad accident I was in about ten years ago. It's been impossible to walk around and move, but now that I've lost some weight, I'm not in pain nearly as often. I've only just started losing the weight, but I'm definitely seeing an improvement already. I'm sure at some point, I'll still need to correct it surgically, but I feel like this is extending my knee's life a bunch and that makes it extra worthwhile to me. Puddin pie 11 Posted February 12, 2020 On reflection..please make sure you get a good knee surgeon...double check the person.A wrong surgery can be a real myck up in your life.Good on you though..you sound as if you are doing well C
Sammi_Katt 303 Posted February 12, 2020 The first week was actually the *easiest* week for me, but I had a complication with my gallbladder going out on me within my second week (I had it removed a month after my sleeve). Walking was already getting easier from the pre-surgery diet because I lost about 13lbs before I even had surgery, and you need to be able to walk around as much as possible right afterwards to get that gas out. And I will find a good doctor, don't worry. ❤️
