It hasn’t been hard at all. I’m vegetarian - have been for 49 years, so the switch is not that hard and I do add a bit of dairy here and there. It actually forces me to be a better vegetarian because I’m cooking from scratch and a lot of the recipes I use are well balanced.

I was finding I was getting really bored of the food that I had in my freezer, so I was reaching for quick easy things like carry Snacks because I just didn’t fancy what was on offer.

49 yearsss?! wow thats a long time. Good for you! I know some people just enjoy it more. I usually make everything from scratch anyways but I feel like being a vegetarian helps keep the cals down. Something to potentially look into again...

@JAKE H so I ended up buying the fairlife Protein Shakes and they are delicious! Thank you so much for the recommendation! They don’t taste like any of the ones I’ve tried before. So far I’ve had a sip from each just to try but I plan on having a whole one tomorrow and I’ll see if I get a reaction from them since other Protein shakes make me throw up.

Thanks again!!!

WOOOHOOOOO. I love to hear this not because i recommended them because its going to help you in the long run! Theyre great for a Meal Replacement and so good. Also, idk if this is a mental thing for me, but i find the COLDER they are the more filling, So sometimes ill put one in the freezer for 30 mins before i know im going to have it lol. Then its really like a shake. But im glad you like them. They have banana (which i think taste like egg nog, which i love) and vanilla (taste like melted vanilla ice cream). i usually get all 4 at a time and then drink two a day. People say isnt that expensive?! Well lets see. i use to spend $15 on Breakfast and $20 on lunch. Now im spending $2.75 and $2.75.....lol....have a great day. Sorry just drank my morning coffee and i got happy fingers.

They taste better nice and cold! I’m going to try putting them in the freezer. I tend not to eat much on the weekend even when I’m hungry (I sorta forget) but these will be great on those days. Such an easy way to get Protein in! And definitely worth the money!

I got an ice cream maker for Xmas and have been making Protein ice cream with milk & Protein Powder. I'm going to throw one of these in it and see how it turns out. Hopefully like a protein frosty.

Please report how it goes!!! You can also do ff fairlife mulk and sugar free hersheys Syrup and pasteurized egg for a creamt dreamy egg cream. Even add a tsp of sf choco puddin mix!

So yesterday I gave it a shot! I followed your recipe exactly and measured everything. It was good! I thought the yogurt would be overpowering but it had a great taste and consistency! Thank you!

I don't know what happened. Before this, I was eating without a problem. Every meal is forcing myself to eat and its really driving me nuts. On the weekends its worse because I'm always so busy I forget to eat. Because I'm not eating how I should my weight loss is slowing down.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a phase? I just hit 6 months so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it?

I am about two months out and I am having this exact problem. Getting my liquid and Protein in for the day is a hassle. I have no desire to eat. I am planning on going back to what I ate during my pureed diet phase and try to start eating what I did in the beginning.

be grateful for it. At some point your hunger is going to come roaring back, and you'll wish it was gone again. It's SO MUCH easier to lose weight when your hunger is in remission!

It's cyclical for me.

Some days I have to force myself to eat my 1000-1200 calories but other days I feel almost like a bottomless pit where even though i'm hitting my Water intake, Vitamins, Protein, Fiber etc I still feel hungry.

I'm basically 7.5 months out or so now.

I didn't feel hungry for about 5 months. I was SO happy! IT made things so much easier!

I was mad when I started feeling hunger pangs again! 😁

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
