I never really thought about the loss happening in my face but I went out last night with my BFF and we took a selfie and she's like "your face is shrinking!" Here's November with her and last night. She's been a rock star with me through all this

So, this morning I hopped on the scaled and I weighed 216! Thats's 27 pounds lost in 34 days and I'm absolutely thrilled. At my age (57), menopause, and a totally jacked-up metabolism from years of dieting, I was prepared for my weight loss to be much slower. I was told after the first month most people lose 8-10 pounds a month, so if I lose 8 a month I would be ecstatic! Also, the surgeon told me that losing slower is better for skin elasticity issues. I've decided to set mini goals. Do these goals sound reasonable? Do you have goals time wise to reach your final goal?

I tried shrimp today. Went really well. It sat is my stomach super easily. I got down about 2oz before I decided I was done. I'll eat the other 2 ounces for dinner. 24 grams of Protein in those 4 ounces, so much!
Yes, any seafood has a lot of protien. I have a bowl of tuna fish salad in fridge all the time now. It's a quick way to get a lot of protien in for those struggling with the shakes.< br>

8 pounds a month is about 2 pounds per week, which seems very reasonable to me. Just keep after it!

These goals sound great! My surgeon also said weight loss will be about 2-3 lbs a week. After a stall it may be more. So that is about 8-12lbs a month! Which is healthy and like you’d aid also helps with skin

Thanks, guys. I want to be thin YESTERDAY, so it's important that I set some reasonable goals because while this new tool certainly makes weight loss quicker, but it is not going to happen overnight, and I need to keep my "fat" brain on track.

I’m finding that other people are also expecting me to lose 100lb overnight. I only told 3 people about the bypass. 2 of them ask me every couple of days what the number is now, like it’s changed massively. They have been told they’ll get an update once a month (I know it’s not of their business at all but they are supportive and just curious). I’m happy I didn’t tell more people :)

When you go to the gym before physical therapy (wrist surgeries) and forget a snack and you're bout to cut a b***h for food lol

I can only eat about half but it's filling and great to grab at a gas station. Needs to be chewed well but I enjoy these!

Unfortunately, I seem to be experiencing my first food aversion to tuna. I used to love it, and now I'm finding it hard to stomach. Been eating canned chicken instead, but not the same Protein wise.

dinner tonight was ground chicken tossed in taco seasoning, and put in a bowl with some hummus! I missed hummus so badly! And this was delicious and about 21 grams of Protein.

I have been having a bit of a difficult time the past 2 days. I'm hungry, but sick of everything I'm eating! I love tuna fish, but have a hard time eating it now, eggs I just cannot eat anymore, refried beans....ugh! Did try an avacado with lemon juice and a little feta cheese yesterday....that was ok. Just seeing if anyone else is having issues....and any suggestions.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
