Supposed to start "normal" foods this Thursday, but I didn't have anything ready for lunch so I had a rotisserie chicken thigh without the skin. Ate the whole thing, but I am stuffed. My stomach is handling well though. It is amazing. Before surgery I could eat half a chicken and still have room for potatoes, veggies and bread.

That's awesome! I can't wait to eat some real chicken. Have you tried anything else now that you're cleared?

Technically I am not cleared for regular food until this Thursday, but I have had some bites of things. I can have low fat cheese, so I have had some weight watchers string cheese with a couple of slices of deli turkey for a snack. I would love to have som fruit, but I don't think I could fit it in and still get all my Protein. I just can't eat enough yet to have both.

Getting the Protein in via food is so difficult especially in the pureed stage, can't wait for solids

What Multi-Vitamin is everyone taking? The one I've been taking, given to me by my nutritionist is a chewable that's chalky and nasty and I think I think to change. Thanks!

How are you guys able to eat raw vegetables so soon? My surgeon says no veggies for 6 months so I’m afraid to eat them. I LOVE asparagus and broccoli!!

Everything is so different! I am basically on no restrictions except salad and a lot of raw veggies and am 4 weeks out today.

I got a women's daily Gummy from costco bc I couldn't stand the chewables. I'll take the few grams of sugar in order to be able to get the Vitamins in !

I purchased the Bariatric Multivitamin with Iron from this site. I bought 12 months worth for $99, so that seemed like a deal and the vitamin/mineral amounts met the guidelines I was given by my surgery team. They are a capsule, but easy to swallow for me.

Wow!! My surgeon says “NO GUMMIES” and “NO RAW VEGGIES”!! No rice, no bread, no popcorn, basically no starch. Everything is so different with every surgeon.

Even veggies that are cooked until soft? Wed. will be 30 days for me and I begin regular food starting with soft Proteins and veggies.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
